Shelf Discovery

OMG, I just finished reading the book Shelf Discovery, and all I can say is it is the most perfect stroll down memory lane. It's all about the great YA novels from when I was a girl (a million, billion years ago--back during the Carter administration). I actually sent the author, Lizzie Skurnick, a kind of embarrassing fan letter lizzieskurnick.com. It was so embarrassing that, if I were here, I probably wouldn't write me back, I'd be like, this girl is kind of crazy. But if you're in the mood to remember reading, say, Flowers in the Attic (the subtitle of the essay, btw, is "He Ain't Sexy, He's My Brother"), you should immediately run to your local independent bookstore and pick up a copy.
